Friendswood Choir program is putting on their annual Christmas concert, but this year is a little different. Rather than their normal, formal concert, this year’s show will be a bit more like the spring Pop Show.

The choirs will begin the show wearing their formal concert wear, dresses and tuxedos. The choirs will perform traditional choral Christmas songs such as “Carol of the Bells” sung by Vocal Ensemble, “I Saw Three Ships” sung by Cantabile, and “Celtic French Carol” sung by Belcanto.

After all the choirs perform their songs there will be an intermission with free hot cocoa, candy canes, and a place for donations to the choir program.

“I’m most excited about serving hot chocolate during intermission because then you get to meet all the people who came, and get to greet them and make them happy with Christmas cheer,” four-year senior Jada Foster said.

After the intermission the choirs will perform more popular christmas music such as “What Will Santa Claus Say” sung by Campus Singers, “The Brightest, Brightest, Holiday Lights” sung by Concert Men, and “All I Want For Christmas is You” sung by Vocal Ensemble. All the choirs will be wearing fun costumes and outfits.

“My costume is a red Christmas sweater with blue jeans and tan boots,” freshman Presten Baumer said.

Solos and duets will be sung between choirs throughout the show. Some performances to look forward to hearing include “O Holy Night” sung by Lily Ellis, “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” sung by Alex Cottrell, and “The First Noel” sung by Isabella Morrison and Max Mims.

There will also be performances from two groups formed by the choir students, “Carols” sung by Chamber Singers and “Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays” sung by AcaBellas.
