As the Spanish Club kicks off the year, changes and additions are being made. The incoming officers have been working on new plans and ideas and, so far, the club has been very successful.

Spanish Club has always welcomed anyone with any interest in learning about Spanish culture and that continues to be a defining pillar of the club.

“We’re a really underrated club, but we have so much to offer, especially for students that are looking to expand their Spanish experience and potential,” Sponsor Mrs. Gutierrez said. “The club has fabulous attendance this year, a lot of new members, and the officers are great.”

This year Spanish Club is approaching the cultural learning experience a little differently than in the past. In the coming year, attendees can expect guest speakers, culture studies, cartoons viewed in Spanish, inventive games, and food.

“I like that we’re doing something a little different with this year’s club,” Vice President Nick Cipolla said. “I think that the diversity will bring in a lot more people and there will be more interest.”

All of the current officers were members of Spanish Club last year and are ready to take on the responsibilities that come with running the club.

I wanted to be a Spanish Club officer because of my love for Spanish and the people in the club.” Junior Jordynne Harris said. “My experience so far has been nothing short of superb. I’m hoping to grow the members of this club and improve my own experience.”

Spanish Club meets every other Thursday in V110 at 4:00. The next meeting will take place on October 10th, where the club will hear from geography teacher Mrs. Ellis about her trip to South America.
